Strengthen Bones & Prevent Falls

The program is designed to strengthen bones, improve balance, and reduce the risk of falls and fractures for those with low bone density, especially for people diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia. It uses high-impact and resistance training shown to help reduce fracture risk by safely stimulating bone growth.

If you have osteoporosis, you might have been told to avoid many of these movements or you may feel nervous about exercising at al Thats why ONERO™ is different.

The word “Onero” means burden or load which is exactly what your bones need to stay strong. Bone responds best to mechanical loading, such as weight-bearing and high-impact activities. ONERO™ offers a structured and safe way to improve your bone health, with long-term benefits that go beyond standard exercise routines.

Delivered by Physiotherapists

The program is delivered by trained physiotherapists who understand your condition, monitor your progress, and adapt your program based on your individual needs. The professional supervision ensures proper technique and safety, especially for older adults.

Is ONERO™ Right for You?

If you’ve been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, or have low bone mineral density on a recent DEXA scan, then the ONERO™ program is designed for you.

We also support clients who:

– Want to prevent fractures after a fall or diagnosis

– Have a family history of osteoporosis

– Want to improve your bone density and strength

– Are postmenopausal or over age 50 and looking to maintain strong bones, stay active and independent

– Have been told to start exercising but don’t know where to begin

– Looking for a non-medication-based approach to strength

ONEROTM is suitable for men and women, often in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond. No matter your starting point, the goal is the same: improve strength, build bone, reduce your risk of falls and fractures, and feel empowered in your own body.

ONEROTM is based on clinical research and has shown measurable improvements in bone density in as little as 6–12 months with regular participation. All exercises are modified to suit your individual ability. It’s never too late to start improving your bone health.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

ONERO™ at Elevate

We run ONEROTM in a safe, supportive environment so you can build stronger bones and move with confidence. Whether you’ve just been diagnosed or have been managing low bone density for years, ONEROTM offers:

  • Exercises proven to improve bone density
  • Supervision by trained physios
  • A program tailored to your level and needs

1. Initial Assessment

Every client begins their ONEROTM journey with an individual assessment by one of our trained physiotherapists. We want to understand your bone density, medical history, current activity levels, and your goals whether that’s lifting grandkids, travelling, or just feeling steady on your feet. You’ll begin with a 40 minute one-on-one session where we’ll assess your bone health, strength, mobility, and any injury concerns. We’ll use this to tailor your program.

2. Weekly Supervised Sessions

Find a time that suits you and join our small group classes (max 4–6 people), where our physiotherapist will guide you through the ONEROTM exercises, focusing on:

– Progressive resistance training using weights or machines

– High-impact loading (jumping, heel drops, etc.), where appropriate

– Balance and coordination exercises

– Posture and core work to support your spine

– Education and technique coaching

3. Optional Home Program

We can also provide exercises to complement your supervised sessions.

Why a Physiotherapist Should Guide You

ONEROTM involves high-intensity exercises, which means it’s vital they’re done safely and correctly. That’s why our trained physiotherapists deliver the program.

With expert supervision, you’ll benefit from:

  • Tailored exercise plans based on your needs and health status
  • Ongoing technique correction and safety monitoring
  • Adjustments for other conditions (e.g., arthritis, joint pain)
  • Supportive coaching to keep you motivated and on track

You’re never just exercising—you’re training with purpose, backed by clinical guidance every step of the way. We adjust the exercises to match your progress and offer home-based versions where needed. Most importantly, we track your progress over time not just how much you can lift, but how well you move and how confident you feel.
